A New Year

We are back home and busy after an exciting Christmas and New Year's. A few days after Christmas we drove up to Washington DC and Pennsylvania to visit my brother and sister. It was definitely an interesting trip - spending about 16 hours each way in the car with my parents and two kids! Surprisingly, it went really well and I may be considering doing it again this summer since plane tickets are so expensive. Hallie was a great traveler. She sat in the way back of my dad's mini van and occupied her time by sleeping, watching movies, and coloring. She didn't complain about the long ride once! Aiden was pretty good too (for a two year old) and only got fussy when we hadn't stopped for a stretch break in a while. He enjoyed listen to my mom playing her instruments and singing along with her.

The long ride was worth definitely worth it when we arrived in Silver Spring, MD and the kids got to meet their 3 week old cousin, John Paul, for the first time. They loved sleeping at Uncle John's house, playing with him, and watching the baby. We then continued up to PA to my sister's house where the baptism for her baby, Lorelei, and John Paul was going to be held. We all loved spending time with the family and were sad when we had to head back to Florida. There was even a little bit of snow in PA when we got there and mom helped Hallie build a snow man.

Now it's February and spring is right around the corner. I enjoyed the day off of work today and the gorgeous 70 degree weather and took a bike ride with the kids. It's so nice out again I'm hoping to head to the beach sometime this President's Day weekend.
